DebianSlug 3.10b (SlugOS/LE-lag): Samba-Problem

EDIT:
Inhaltlich ist das Problem zwar nicht gelöst, aber ich habe jetzt doch Debian/NSLU auf meiner Slug - nach 2 Anläufen.
So gesehen, juckt mich das unten beschriebene Problem nicht mehr, da Samba unter Debian/NSLU einwandfrei läuft (zumindest auf den ersten Blick in die Logs etc).

Falls trotzdem noch jemand eine Idee hat, was das u.g. Problem ist, kann er sich ja nochmal melden.
Ansonsten ist's aber auch nicht schlimm, wenn nichts mehr kommt.

~~~~~~~~~
Samba läuft (kein Domänen-Controller, kein WINS). Ein Share /public ist angelegt mit einer Testdatei test (chmod 777 test).
An meiner NSLU2 hängt eine 300 GB USB-HDD mit drei Partitionen:
/dev/sda1 für das System (/) - ca. 2 GB (nur ca. 60 MB belegt)
/dev/sda5 für Swap - ca. 78 MB
/dev/sda6 für Daten (/public = das ist auch mein Samba-Share) - ca. 290 GB (fast leer)
smbd: aktiv
nmbd: aktiv
winbindd: aktiv (wobei ich mir nicht sicher bin, ob ich das überhaupt benötige)
Schon beim Anlegen eines Netz-LW zu diesem Share unter WinXP lese ich unter /var/log/samba/log.pc:
  pc (192.168.178.10) connect to service public initially as user user (uid=501, gid=501) (pid 1675)
Was läuft da schief?
Das Netz-LW wird trotzdem unter WinXP korrekt angezeigt, auch die Datei test. Aber wenn ich sie lesen will, kommt folgende sehr seltsame Meldung:
Wieso "No space left on device"?
Die Partition (dev/sda1) ist ca. 2 GB groß, und es ist eine Menge Platz frei.
Swap (/dev/sda5) ist ca. 78 MB groß (default beim Installieren).
